The Potter's House Church was founded in 2002 in the city of Morristown NJ, where Pastors David and Patrica Silva, came from New York to start a work that has since seen the grace and support of God, and from here, we are a blessing to many nations of the Earth

Our Story

TPHC began as a mission in 2001. Pastor David traveled several times a week from New York to Morristown, NJ to evangelize and raise up a community of believers. Where there was nothing, God turned it into something.

Today TPHC is a church of impact and influence to the community with several campuses established around the NJ area.

TPHC is a place where families fellowship together and hear the word of God.

It is our vision to expand our church to continue to be a church of greater influence and impact to our community and the world.

Our church is a church that will continue to grow in representing our Lord Jesus Christ as He is worthy to be represented, presenting the good news of salvation, in season and out of season, to all who are unsaved, so that they may receive deliverance from all oppression securing their eternal life and a better life on earth.

We are a body of believers who will continue to seek to alleviate the suffering and needs of all who are oppressed spiritually, emotionally, physically or family-wise, through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the gifts He has given us and the resources He entrusts to us.

We will continue to provide for the development of believers in all areas of their lives through: The Biblical Training Seminar, meetings, conferences, and counseling so that every believer can thrive and at the same time perform in service to God, through serving others in the Houses of Hope and in ministries inside and outside the Church.

A body of believers who have an intense passion for God to such an extent that every area of their lives worships our Lord Jesus.

We will strengthen our commitment to the generations that come after us, our children and our youth, intensifying our work with them by preparing them to be a powerful generation in the midst of a world full of challenges, needs and evil.

We will continue to develop our local mission by going to communities in New Jersey where the Lord sends us to open campuses by assigning a pastor in each one and staying unified in vision and work using technology.

We will continue to expand our missionary program by opening new works in other nations, and giving coverage to others already established, thus extending the reach of the mission that the Lord has entrusted to us.

The Bible

We believe and accept the whole Bible as the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit; the only and perfect order of our faith and way of life; to which nothing can be added or taken away, which is the power of God for the salvation of believers.
(2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 1:16)

The Trinity

We believe that there is only one living and true God, eternal, omnipotent, Creator of all things, and this one God eternally exist in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Ephesians 4:6; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7)

The Person & Work of our Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Son of God is the Word, made flesh, the One who took on the human body through the Virgin Mary, and thus became fully God and fully man. Two natures in one person, the divine and the human; and therefore He is the only Savior, who actually suffered death, not only for the first transgression, but also for the actual sins of man.
(John 1:14; Luke 1:27-35; I Peter 3:18)

The Personality of Satan

We believe in the existence of evil represented in the devil, and that with all evil spirits, he will be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.
(Matthew 25:41, 1 Peter 5:8, Revelation 20:10)

Salvation

We believe that regeneration or the new birth is received only through faith in Christ Jesus; who was delivered for our sins and was resurrected for our justification. Those who are in Christ Jesus (cleansed by his blood), are new creatures and have faith in Christ Jesus for wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.
(Romans 3:24-25; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Corinthians 1:30)

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, according to the commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 28:18-19, Acts 2:38)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience received after salvation. It is the activation of spiritual gifts within us that enables us to function properly in the body of Christ.
(Acts 2:4; 10:45-47; 19:6, Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 5:7)

Communion

We believe in the Lord's Supper, when Christ, then, having taken bread, ".... He gave thanks, and brake it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. In like manner, when he had supped, he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
(Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

The Second Coming

We believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ "shall descend from heaven with a loud voice, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord"

(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:6)

Eternity

We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead, righteous and unrighteous, and they will go to eternal punishment, but the righteous will enter into eternal life.
(Acts 24:15; Matthew 25:26)

TPHC exists to reach multitudes of people so that they follow Jesus Christ, thus securing their eternity and transforming their lives, which will change the world until Christ returns

As a church we have been led by God and the Holy Spirit, through faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior, and we are united according to the following code:

We proclaim the knowledge and application of the Full Gospel from Genesis to Revelation

We Proclaim the Kingdom Message

We proclaim that Jesus was the perfect sacrificial lamb needed to restore the relationship between all humanity and God

We Present Salvation to the Lost

Faith in Jesus is the only way for salvation

We Edify & Unify the Body of Christ

We are family. We help and care for each other because we are one body
